Your MBP is definitely a pillow. pillow: anything used to cushion the head. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pillow
It's definitely not a cushion. cushion: a soft bag of cloth, leather, or rubber, filled with feathers, air, foam rubber, etc., on which to sit, kneel, or lie. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cushion

Ergo, a MBP is not a pillow.

I always recommend learning any language by hand and use your favorite editor, such as TacoEdit, BBEdit, vi, Textpad, jEdit, whatever. Then when you fully understand it, you can use a WYSIWIG editor. Then you'll be able to modify the code for efficiency or just plain modifications.

Does anyone have this problem? IPhoto duplicates the event section. When sync to the iPhone. Shows in iTunes but not in iPhoto .

I believe this is an iPhoto bug, not an iOS or iTunes problem. It only showed up when people upgraded to 9.1.2. Earlier versions of iPhoto and Aperture do not have this problem.

i found this thread while looking for the solution to a similar situation. I too am looking for a phone with a QWERTY keyboard that does not require a data plan, but I also need a calendar that can sync with my mac computer. I don't care what calendar it is (google/ical/other) and and am willing to buy/download third party software, but am not sure about Bit Pim since fourm users' reviews seem mixed at best. I would like to stay with Verizon (cdma) if possible, but haven't found a phone on their network to fit my needs, so now I am open to any carrier. Any advice appreciated.

I have upgrade my iBook OS, from OS922 to 10.3.8.
    (iBook G3 800 MHz, 384 Mb SDRAM, HD 40Gb, ADSL256)

Before I erased all data on my hard disk to zero. Clean installation also.

After that, as a result, I have a corrupted display and a freezed iBook!
    (see attached...)

BUT, if I boot the iBook without extensions, (safe boot),
    it's ok....

I have no ideas how to solve this bug. I tried to re install twice, no more success... I run Disk Utility, TechToolsPro, DiskWarrior, nothing special...

I think to understand a System log could help.

What does <The "HasShadow" window property is obsolete> mean?
How, and where learn to use those system log?

I usually manage well my troobleshootings, but I'm not at all experienced in Unix, BSD, and System log.

Here is a part of last System log

Feb 15 08:08:04 localhost SystemStarter: Bienvenue sur Macintosh.
    Feb 15 08:08:04 localhost SystemStarter: D?marrage extensions d?sactiv?es

    Feb 15 08:08:07 localhost SystemStarter: D?marrage de l?agent d??v?nement du kernel
Feb 15 08:08:07 localhost SystemStarter: Initialisation du r?seau

    Feb 15 08:08:11 localhost kernel: ATY,Bee_A: vram [9c000000:02000000]
    Feb 15 08:08:11 localhost kernel: ATY,Bee_B: vram [98000000:02000000]
Feb 15 08:08:11 localhost SystemStarter: The "HasShadow" window property is obsolete. Use CGSSetWindowShadowAndRimParameters(cid, wid, 0.0,0.0, 0,0, CGSNoShadowStyle) to turn off the window shadow instead. Set a break-point on CGSLogMessage to find out where this property is set.

Is ATY the culprit? But how to debug this?

    Regards

Thanks for the replies! I'm a little surprised there's not one speaking up for Perl, but yeah, did some more research on my own and found this
    http://strombergers.com/python/
The Cocoa bridges/runtime are not a concern to me as I don't want "to make decent Mac OSX apps" with GUI and everything, just some command line tools for my own use. But the examples at that link pushed me over to go with Python. To put together quick automation scripts every now and then, I don't want to deal with a steep learning curve. The Perl examples there looked just too cryptic to me.

Oh wait, there's a MacBook Air coming out in 2012, and then there's an update in 2013. You gotta hold of till 2014 and get the new ones with turbo-boost CPUs, but the even new models looks much sleeker, unfortunately it's not out till 2015.

Next thing you know, I'm suffering from diabetes in a care home.

Does anyone know how I could do this? Basically I have a client who wants to stream a part of their store to the general public so that people could see what happens during the day. All that I know at the moment is that it will be a flash window located on their front page. I just don't know how I should go about streaming to the web. Would I need a dedicated IP? Hardware/Server? What kind of bandwidth would this require?

The official TRIM support is already in Snow Leopard builds for the new Macbook Pros with SSDs and it's in Lion as well. The official support is only for the Apple's SSDs, no TRIM support for third party SSDs. There is a way to enable it for any SSD that supports TRIM, but it is a hack. Here's the thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1125400

Apple are usually conservative about their SSDs, they don't go for the top of the line SSDs. So, it is normal to see conservative speed from Apple's SSDs.

Just in case anybody is interested...

I made a simple CoreImage test app to try and get to grips with CoreImage. It's not very advanced but it can do a number of effects and is fun to play with.

I need somebody to host it for the moment because I'm away from my webserver so if anybody can do that then it will be available for download.

Requires a CoreImage compatible graphics card that is Quartz2DExtreme capable. Works nice and smoothly on my 17" Powerbook (Most recent gen).

Its called Beatles Anthology. Basically The complete Beatles story on 5 DVD's. Interviews with Paul, John, George, and Ringo, concert footage, etc. If you're a hardcore Beatles fan like I am, I recommend it highly

    Thanks!

I have a listing on ebay for my new iPod Shuffle, 1 GB. It is new, and this is a great price for anyone interested in the Shuffle. I will ship USPS Priority Mail for free also.

    Here is the link to the ebay auction;

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5837007636

Also, only PayPal is accepted for this auction. I have a 100% feedback rating and score of 103, so you know I will take good care of you. I will ship out within 24 hours also.

It sold within 2 hours. I guess someone thought it was a great price.
