You can get a gophone smartphone account now with an iphone, but you need to bring your own phone. I posted my experience with it in the iphone main forum.
Prepaid either $2/day or $0.10/minute and he small data package is cheap but escapes me at the moment. Im on the big one for $25/500mb.

OK, so to recap:
I can leave my SSD as is (that is, I can continue to choose to boot from that and have it run Snow Leopard).
I can installed Lion on the Hard Disk and choose to boot from that if I want.
Question: If my home folder is stored on the Hard Disk for when I run Snow Leopard with the SSD, how do I prevent home folder complications when I install Lion on the Hard Disk? Don't want it to mess up the snow leopard experience.
I can leave my SSD as is (that is, I can continue to choose to boot from that and have it run Snow Leopard).

1) The Classic Platinum Theme (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15581). Installable on OS X using either unsanity.com's ShapeShifter or Duality 4
2) X-Assist (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10519) or ASM (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10410) to give you an application switching menu in your menubar.
3) FruitMenu (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12974) to give you back an editable / customizable Apple Menu, to give you a hierarchical menu-view of System Prefs so you don't have to launch the entire %&## System Preferences pane and then reach with your mouse a second time to invoke the specific PrefsPane you want. And to use as a launcher.
4) WindowShade X (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12243), to be able to minimize windows the classic Macintosh way, not like some Windows PC-wannabe. (Will also minimize-in-place to a small icon)
5) PullTab (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18606), to pry that damn Dock's filthy hands off the keystoke combo Command-Tab, thus freeing it up for apps with original rights to it, like FileMaker Pro.
6) To get your Trash can onto the Desktop where it belongs, there are several apps that purport to be able to do so, but I prefer to just use TinkerTool to make everything visible in the Finder, then make an alias to .Trash and put the alias on the Desktop. Find a nice MacOS 9ish Trashcan icon on the internet and paste.
7) Now to dispense with the godforsaken Dock itself. Two choices: you can minimize it practically out of existence by pinning it to the left edge of your screen and then edit com.apple.dock.plist in a text editor, manually changing the tilesize parameter to 1, which will give you a Dock about the size of a pinhead in a place where you won't mouse-over on it very often by accident; or you can nuke it entirely. To nuke it entirely, first copy Dock.app from /System/Library/CoreServices and make that copy a startup item for every user account on your machine (towards the top of the list); then make an AppleScript consisting of tell application "Dock"; quit; end tell, save it as an application, and add that to your startup items (towards the end); then, finally, sudo rm the original Dock.app from within CoreServices. If you are asking if its apple's style, i would have to say no man. I would change the backgound color to white and find a place to add highlights of silver. Just some suggestions.

i am visiting apps that i bought via itunes and there is no any info there that i bought or not. So, if i format or change my mac then can i restore with that backed up folder?
There isn't really an indication on the iPhone or iTunes App Store, but if you click Buy, it will tell you that you already paid for this app and starts to download for free.

5. Wireless everything!!! including W power charge

8. Probably the most important, to be a reasonable price

I agree with others that there will continue to be good deals on the iBook in the future.
You have to be very careful about the 120 days same as cash deal. I have no contact with the current company. The one prior would charge interest from day one if not paid off by the 120th day. So be very careful.
Just purchase whenever you feel comfortable. Best to buy what you need when you need the Mac.

Hi. I'm wondering if mixing and matching even Apple production apps affects their compatibility? Moving "up" to a Mac has been a bubble-buster since I discovered the dark side of legacy software and machines in an "upgraded to Intel" world.:mad:
I have a "Late '05" 2.3 dual core PPC 10.5.8 Leopard that came loaded from eBay with all the bells and whistles, assembled, apparently, from a grab bag and I have no disks for the uninstalling and reinstalling tricks.
FCP is version 5.0.4, Compressor is 2.0.1, Logic Studio is 8.0.1, iDVD is 7.0.4 and DVD Studio is 3.0.2. (Do all these fit together? Looks like a production suite made from the parts box. LOL!)
I have Toast 10 Titanium too.
The reason I mention that is, I'm having not only exporting problems with Compressor, quality problems exporting in Quicktime Conversion to AVI, but also burning issues with DVDs that won't play in the living room deck.
Compressor 2 gives me the now-famous Cannot Submit Batch message. I've tried all sorts of fixes -yes, even the Compressor Repair that's made for Compressor 3 and above. Again the legacy thing. After googling for more tricks, I have discovered Compressor 2's "preference file" is missing from Home>Library>Preferences. Hmmm. Maybe a new Compressor is in order? Which version should I install since I have all this mixed bag of wares?
So, Toast won't play, iDVD won't play, Compressor won't compress and AVI from Quicktime Conversion looks like crap. (I understand Toast 9 has good reports but since they "improved" it, I have no use for it. Again, the legacy.)

The deck plays the menu but I won't know anything else until I find the flippin' remote! That's something to remember though: burning in Disk Utility. That and finding the remote.

I've come back to the mac world. I've been away ever since my apple G3 was stolen. Now, I bought an apple I3 IMac 27". Hummm, I still miss my G3. Anyways, let's get to the problem.
In these threads, everyone is having problems with their IMac's not sleeping in Windows 7. Well not me. For me, my IMac is not sleeping in OS X [10.6.7]. I thought there was a hardware issue. Just to make sure it was not, I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the OS. Then, it was fine for awhile until I started installing software. The last thing I installed was skype in OS. And now it does not go to sleep in OS. Why doesn't my IMac fall asleep on its own in OS X? Could it be boot camp? Or, could it be skype? And yes, I reset the PRAM and followed the directions on the apple web-site and I even called apple care but, to no avail. I should have bought a Windows machine!
Just kidding....
Can someone help me please? If it's a skype issue then, I understand. But, why on earth would skype prevent my IMac from sleeping even when it is closed. It just doesn't make any sense for the programmers to have skype conflict with OSX 10.6.7; they would have resolved these types of conflicts by now.

lots of music stores will buy used CD's off you, We have a few where I live, I think even Media Play buys used CD's... Your not going to get much, but for every few you trade in you could pick up another new CD...

What exact version of iPhoto are you using?
I had the same error even on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard when I installed iLife '11. It wouldn't run until I ran Software Update and downloaded the latest version of iPhoto...
I'm running iPhoto 9.1.2 on OS X 10.7 Lion with no issues. :)

I think I'd like to get a handheld gaming machine, something a little different to relax with. It seems from what I've read the DS lite has better games. I'm into RPG/classic type nintendo games (for the nostalgia) on a handheld.
The psp seems to have better graphics and all, but the main thing I'm not so hot about the DS is the stylus. Do I NEED this to play the games? Does this not get annoying, having to pick up the stylus, touch something, put it down and get on the D-pad again? I just can't see how the stylus integrates well.
Anyone with a DS care to chime in? Thanks!
The DS is the best handheld ever created, maybe even one of the best gaming systems in history. The library is simply amazing. Sure, it lacks in a few genres (western RPGs, beat em ups, sports), but there are so many incredible games for the system.
The stylus is hardly an issue. Sure, some of the games heavily use the stylus (and some don't use it at all), and quite a few were completely built around that concept and hardly use any buttons, but those are also some of the best games on the system (Trauma Center, The World Ends With You, Elite Beat Agents, Ninja Gaiden or Soul Bubbles for example). Games that heavily use the stylus usually only use the dpad and/ or one of the shoulder buttons though, so there isn't much switching around.
And the games aren't that expensive, either. They are usually a lot cheaper than PC games, and even cheaper than PSP games, and usually drop in price after just a few weeks or months. The library is already huge, you have a lot of catching up to do, so you might as well start with some of the cheaper classics.
I would, however, suggest to wait until E3 in June, when Nintendo will reveal their next generation handheld to the public. It will be released within the next nine months and backwards compatible with the DS and DSi library.

Lol I am a guy. Blondie was just my nickname from high school. But yeah, I was wondering if the warranty would still cover my cracks for free as well. I have a few friends that have had issues with their 2009 MacBook plastic cracking as well. So I think they may head into apple and see what they can do.

i was at the local Apple store 4 days ago and the place was packed and i watched 3 iMacs and 7 notebooks and a mini leave in just over an hour. i mentioned MWSF to an employee and he laughed and said most people didn't know about it. they are not having ANY trouble selling stuff in the run up.
yeah, people who hit these forums are not buying, but everyone else is going to town and laying their cards down. look at estimates for Apples sales over the holiday! :D
