Wasteland serves two main purposes. One, as an example to others. Two, so that people know where their threads have gone. It takes about five seconds to move a thread in there.
In many cases, deleting threads can make more work because the thread starter can often contact mods asking where their thread has disappeared to.
good answer ... I never looked at it that way.
OK then ... more useless threads put straight into wasteland.

Because they are cheaper, more functional, lighter, more secure and easier to distribute information, than a traditional dell laptop most schools would carry

1) build computer with head
2) set it up to start a vnc server on startup so you can control it's screen from another computer, in case you want to do something on it without getting another screen out.

If there's any advantage to paper books, it's that you can take it places anywhere and don't need a computer. I had a job where I took books with me and would read when it was slow.
This is not much of an advantage, esp with iPads and other readers.
All my reading right now is eBooks! Easier to have several books open to cross-reference stuff too.
Yea, for the most part, I'm rarely in a situation like that, but I had considered that. I'm looking at this option: I'm willing to test this first with programming books, which I generally don't read away from a computer anyway. Then I'll decide if I want to move to ebooks exclusively.
For my programming books I use ebooks for being able to search, and access them from my various machines. Its also easier to have them on my screen beside where I am coding.
That was a major reason the ebook option appealed to me, easily portable and searchable.

In 90% of what we say, does it have any point to it? You say, "Hello." What's the Point? You already know that you know them, and they know that you know them; therefore is there any point in saying hello, if you can just smile, showing you've acknowledged them. It also may be referring to suicide, but I haven't read the context - Hellhammer, Herdfan: if you feel you're about to commit suicide, DON'T listen to Adele. :)
Basically, don't laugh at other people's mistakes; both of them were innocent mistakes - there's no need to point them out - they know what they did, even if it's subconscious - we know what they mean.

No reason in particular, I'm just doing my firsts experiments in socket programming and I thought it could be useful if, for example, I want to connect two client to my server, one in the LAN and one outside. In the client application, I could set the server's ip programmatically and let the client in the LAN connect to the server through the public ip, but now I should think of two versions of the same client (or let the server's ip be set at runtime).

Can I run two external displays from the 21" iMac? One from mini dp with vga converter and one from thunderbolt to vga or hdmi? It looks like the graphics card only supports one external display by the specs.. so what would be the point of using the thunderbolt over the mini display port right?
I would get a 21.5" iMac to go with my two 22" ips monitors if I knew it could work...

That shouldn't be the case as phone has her custom wallpaper and has still alarms are set. Phone is showing "iPhone is locked connect with iTunes" and after connecting through USB i get "iTunes could not connect to iPhone..." al below:

How do I keep m Mac clean?? I have downloaded a couple of applications that I do not need, how do I delete them??

Nothing needed to clean the Mac, to uninstall applications, drag them from the Applications folder onto the Trash icon in the Dock.

We're about 30 mins away. Their employees have been coming out periodically taking pictures and giving out water bottles.
The best part is Alan (kid with the fro) has been telling anyone thats asked us why we're waiting in line is that Abercrombie is looking for new models. None of us are exactly "model material" but alotta people have been going along with it. There'll be a video up later tonight, it's priceless! :D

Depends if you have a decent phone wait youll be glad you did however if you do not have a phone get the 4 and enjoy it for at least another month:p Apple usually supports the phones for 2.5-3 years so the 4 still has plenty of life left.

the system calls are a funny thing, you can also look at the exec calls.
$ man 3 exec
try using the full path to curl '/usr/bin/curl ... '
If I remember correctly, when system executes the shell, you won't get the path or environment from the current process, so it doesn't know where to find the curl command unless it was built in.
